Company B is a top performing, short lead-time, international supplier of competitively priced, high performance, bonded seals with international sales comprising more that 85% of the company’s turnover.  Well known customers include:

Volvo, Scania, MAN, Iveco, GM, Ford, Ferrari, Fiat, JCB, Liebherr

Company B is a market leader with a great track record and an impressive product catalogue. Company B supplies best selling products which are always in stock and available on an ABC shipment basis for on time delivery. Company B is further able to offer consignment stock holding and full stock management at their customers’ facilities subject to the relevant and necessary IT systems and controls. This affords the customer a cash flow boost with the sale and release of their stock.

Company B holds the TS 16949 quality accreditation for incorporating design and review in its proven capabilities. Company B offers a comprehensive service for new and or existing applications involving metal to elastomeric bonding. Through close cooperation with their customers they are able to assist with the development of new products to meet evolving demands within the industry. One such example is their original development of the self-centralizing bonded seal with one of their UK clients.  This highly effective innovation has since been widely adopted by bonded seal manufacturers worldwide. Company B also thoroughly supports its customers’ testing requirements.

The Project

Sales Direct undertook a Satellite Office Service project with Company B in July of 2009 with the goal of increasing the company’s existing US presence.

Results

Sales Direct initially researched companies similar to CAT, agricultural equipment (with fluid actuation) manufacturers and diesel engine manufacturers along with companies, predominantly distributors, belonging to the FPDA (The Fluid Power Distributors Association) http://www.fpda.org/ as per the brief.

It became clear, after contacting numerous distributors belonging to the FPDA that many of them did not or could not purchase significant quantities of bonded seals.

The main OEMs expressing interest in Company B were Eaton Hydraulics, Gardner Denver Inc and Ingersoll-Rand. A major West Coast distributor was identified and through their introduction a large order was placed with a division of Oshkosh Truck.

Company B has recently developed a seal for the oil and gas sector, and subject to final testing are looking to roll out a further Satellite Office project with Sales Direct in the summer of 2010.
